BUILDING, DESTROYING, AND REBUILDING COB COLUMNS AS HIGH AS OUR BODIES

2023
Video HD
Feminist science fiction experiment

We work together to build columns, watch them fall, break the material down to use it again, and film each other in the process. Cob - a mix between clay, sand, and hay - is the first building material known to humans and is also very related to the future as it is extremely sustainable. Blurring the boundaries between filmmaking and workshop organizing, the work asks if we can imagine spaces where womxn bodies can find strength and empowerment in a potential rewiring of their relationship to exhaustion.
